Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan launches the heading #изисториистолетия in celebration of 100 years of TASSR and People’s Commissariat of Justice.
TASSR was established by Decree of the All-Russian Executive Committee of May 27th, 1920, by which People’s Commissariat of Justice of TASSR was established.
People’s Commissariat of Justice was established on the base of the Governorate department of the Justice of the Kazan Governorate Executive Committee which was reorganized into Department of Justice of TASSR and into People’s Commissariat of Justice on September, 1920.
Commissariat of Justice of TASSR had a significant mission on the completion of judicial constructing, supervising the legitimacy of the juridical-investigation and other Soviet bodies of the Republic activity and organization of notarial service. Commissariat of Justice consisted of 10 departments and had three regional departments of Justice in Kazan, Chistopol and Tetjushi.
It should be noted that special direction of Commissariat of Justice activity became a creation of the Shariat Commission part of the plan of work of which were studying of Tatar Arabic-Shariat Law , systematization of the common Tatar Law and its further adaptation on needs of the Soviet time.
Alexey Nikolaevich Nehotyaev was elected as the 1st Commissar of Justice, he was the professional lawyer, skilled organizer, he was able to organize a stable justice bodies in TASSR.
