Today, the State Council held a meeting of the United Russia faction, at which Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin made a report on the organization of free legal aid in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was held by the head of the faction Yuri Kamaltynov.
In his report, the Minister noted that two systems of providing free legal aid have been formed in the republic: state and non-state.
The main participants in the state system of providing free legal aid are lawyers who are involved in this work on the basis of an agreement concluded annually between the Ministry of Justice and the Bar Chamber. Today, 149 lawyers participate in the state system and cover almost the entire territory of the republic. For 9 months of 2022, they provided 109 oral and 35 written consultations.
Since 2017, residents of the republic have been able to find the most convenient address for receiving free legal aid online on an interactive map of Tatarstan, which shows all points of providing free legal aid with information about who will advise and at what time.
During his speech, Rustem Zagidullin spoke about the work of a mobile information and consulting group that provides free legal assistance to mobilized citizens. Most often, military personnel applied for issues of registration of a general power of attorney, credit vacations, suspension of enforcement proceedings, deferral and reservation from partial mobilization, benefits to mobilized and their family members. A total of 1,684 notarial documents were issued.
In addition, the Minister said that in November 2021, a special car based on Gazelle NEXT was allocated to the Republic of Tatarstan. The special vehicle is intended for the organization of exit points for the provision of free legal assistance. Since the beginning of 2022, 40 visits have already been conducted, during which 206 citizens received legal assistance on 257 issues.
