Today at the prosecutor's office of Nizhny Novgorod region under the chairmanship of Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Nikolai Shishkin a training and methodological seminar on social rehabilitation and adaptation of persons who have served sentences of imprisonment and compulsory labor was held.
The seminar was held with the connection via video-conferencing of the prosecutor's offices of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation that make up the Volga Federal District.
First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Ainur Galimov took part in the mentioned event and made a report "On typical violations in the activities of local authorities in implementing the program on ensuring public order and combating crime on the territory of the region".
The seminar also heard reports from representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, federal bodies of the Penitentiary Service, internal affairs of Nizhny Novgorod region, the Ministries of Labor and Social Protection of Saratov and Orenburg regions and other participants.
The relevance of the event is associated with the entry into force on January 1, 2024 of the Federal Law "On Probation in the Russian Federation," which provides for the introduction of a new institution of probation as a set of measures applied to convicted persons who have also been released from penal institutions for their further resocialization and adaptation in society, including persons against whom other measures of criminal law nature have been appointed.
