The Ministry of Justice discussed issues of free legal assistance and the work of legal clinics
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice under the leadership of First Deputy Minister Ainur Galimov, during which they discussed the work of legal clinics and the further prospects for their interaction with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Legal Bureau of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan has been working closely for many years with specialists from legal clinics that provide legal assistance free of charge to residents of the Republic, including at the site of the Ministry of Justice.
In total, 7 legal clinics operate in Tatarstan on the basis of such universities as: Kazan Federul University, «TISBI University of Management», Russian State University of Justice, RPA of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in Kazan, «Kazan Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation», «Academy of Social Education» and Kazan Innovative University named V.G. Timiryasov..
Legal clinics occupy an important place in the system of free legal assistance, contributing to the improvement of legal literacy of the population. Under the guidance of experienced mentors represented by teachers, students provide free legal assistance to residents of the republic in the form of consulting, drafting documents, as well as legal examination of documents.
During the meeting, they separately discussed the issue of expanding student practice opportunities so that future lawyers could apply their skills and knowledge not only in legal clinics, but also in the State Legal Bureau. The First Deputy Minister of Justice noted that the consolidation of all participants in the state and non-state systems of free legal assistance would increase its accessibility and quality.
The need to involve the legal community in providing free legal assistance was pointed out by the Rais of Tatarstan. It should be noted that the provision of free llegal assistance meets the goals of the national project «Demography» in terms of preserving the well-being of people.
