As part of the agreement concluded between the State Legal Bureau of Tatarstan and the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Republic, convicts who serve their sentences in Tatarstan receive free legal assistance on a regular basis.
In order to implement the provisions of the Federal Law on Probation in the Russian Federation, the main focus of joint work is legal education and protection of the rights of those serving sentences.
According to the head of the State Legal Bureau, Mars Fatkullin, the signed agreement allows for the exchange of information, regularly collect questions that accumulate from those serving sentences and ensure their meeting with the staff of the State Legal Bureau.
Recall that certain categories of citizens have the right to receive free legal assistance, in particular: disabled people of groups I and II, the poor, orphaned children, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of Russia. «We provide free legal assistance to those citizens who fall under the category of the law, and in this case there is no difference whether a person is in prison or not. If in the course of work, questions arise from convicts who do not belong to the listed categories, the staff of the State Legal Bureau does not refuse to help them», - says Mars Fatkullin.
It is worth noting that all activities for the provision of free legal assistance are organized within the framework of the state program «Development of Justice in the Republic of Tatarstan» free legal assistance is provided.
