Measures to improve work in the field of funeral and funeral services are continuing in Tatarstan
On the instructions of Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, measures to eliminate shortcomings in the sphere of funeral services and ritual services have been organized on the territory of the Republic.
Issues of implementation of powers of local self-government bodies on organization of funeral services were discussed today in the Ministry of Justice of Tatarstan. The seminar for municipal employees was held by deputy minister of Justice Mukharryam Ibyatov.
Special attention was paid to the issue of registration of land plots, on which cemeteries are located, into municipal ownership. There are 3816 cemeteries registered in the republic. By the beginning of 2025 it was possible to formalize 97% of territories, but 105 plots are still waiting for the completion of the procedure. It is planned that this work will be finalized during the current year.
In addition, great importance is attached to the establishment of specialized services dealing with funeral matters. As of the beginning of 2025, such services operate in 42 out of 45 municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is 97% of the total number.
Work on the introduction of electronic registers of burial places is also being actively carried out. To date, the registration of burial sites in digital format is organized in six municipalities: the cities of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny, as well as Baltasinskiy, Bugulma, Elabuga and Zelenodolskiy districts.
