In Tatarstan plan to increase the remuneration of guardians and trustees: the Expert council has approved a corresponding bill
A meeting of the Expert council of the Interdepartmental coordination committee on legal issues was held at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan. One of the agenda items was the draft law of the Republic of Tatarstan «On amendments to article 141.1 of the Family Codex of the Republic of Tatarstan».
The document provides for a significant increase in monthly compensation for guardians and trustees, which, according to the drafters, will improve the social security of families, create comfortable conditions for children left without parental care and enhance the prestige of guardianship in the republic.
«Payments to guardians and trustees have not been revised since 2013, even though economic realities have changed significantly since then. We strive to support those who take on such an important and responsible responsibility», - the meeting noted.
The draft law proposes increasing the monthly compensation from 3 000 rubles to 8 641 rubles. During the meeting, it was emphasized that increasing payments will not only attract new guardians but also provide adequate conditions for those already providing foster care to children in difficult circumstances.
According to official data, as of July 2025, 1 788 children were in foster families in Tatarstan. In 2026, the number of children in such families is projected to reach 1 600, of which 230 are children from the most vulnerable categories.
Additional budget expenditures for the implementation of the law in 2026 are expected to amount to 189 million rubles.
The draft law has been submitted to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan in accordance with established procedure.
