The Ministry of justice of the Republic of Tatarstan informs residents of a new step in the digitalization of government services: a Digital ID is now available in the MAX messenger, becoming a fully functional alternative to traditional paper documents. The Digital ID allows for verification of age, student status, parental status and other parameters, providing citizens with a «passport in their smartphone».
To create a Digital ID, users must update the MAX and Gosuslugi apps to the latest version, select the «Digital ID» icon in their profile and follow the instructions: agree to login with a face or fingerprint, go to Gosuslugi, confirm the processing of personal data and confirm their identity using biometrics. If biometrics have not yet been submitted, they can do so using a new-style international passport or at a service center by taking a selfie and waiting for confirmation that the ID is ready. Russian citizens over 18 years of age can create and use a Digital ID.
A key feature of the service: the owner's identity is verified via a special dynamic QR code, which updates every 30 seconds and is visible only on the device where the ID was created. The code can only be accessed via Face ID or a fingerprint. Unauthorized use is also protected by the inability to take a screenshot of the QR code.
In addition to the digital passport, an official MFC chatbot has been launched in Tatarstan in the MAX messenger, with its verified status indicated by a blue checkmark. The chatbot helps residents of the republic remotely schedule or cancel appointments, check the status of their application and find the addresses and opening hours of nearby branches—all available 24/7, even with low internet speeds. To get started, simply find the «MFC of the Republic of Tatarstan» chat and initiate a conversation.
