Municipalities in Tatarstan have increased support measures for SMO participants
Over the past four years, the number of municipal support measures for special military operation participants and their families in the Republic of Tatarstan has more than doubled, reaching 3082 as of April 1, 2026.
The Tatarstan Ministry of Justice not only maintains records of municipal acts establishing support measures for special military operation participants and their families but also provides methodological assistance in their development and improvement.
«While at the end of 2022, we recorded 1360 support measures, today there are already over 3000. This clearly demonstrates how important a priority caring for the defenders of the Fatherland is for our republic, noted Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Mukharryam Ibyatov. – It is important that this support covers all key areas of life—from tax breaks to children's education and psychological support», – the deputy minister added.
The municipal registry includes information on 16 types of assistance, the most common of which are exemptions from self-assessment, land tax, and property tax benefits for individuals.
Special attention in the republic is given to supporting the children of SMO participants, including free school meals, exemptions from kindergarten fees, priority access to summer camp vouchers, and priority enrollment in educational institutions.
According to the Deputy Minister of Justice, the Yelabuzhskiy and Mendeleyevsky districts offer the most support to SMO participants, with eleven different benefits and assistance programs available. In Kazan, Aktanyshsky, Almetyevsky, and Kaibitsky districts, families of military personnel can take advantage of ten types of support.
