Legal aspects of holding citizens' assemblies were discussed at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan. A video reception with employees of local government bodies was held by Deputy Minister of Justice Mukharryam Ibyatov.
The event was attended by Deputy Executive Secretary of the Association «Council of municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan» Arkady Semenychev, Chief Specialist of the Legal Department of the Association «Council of municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan» Ramziya Ismagilova, Head of the Department of legal advisory and methodological support for local government bodies Albert Kamalutdinov.
The practice of holding assemblies in our republic has increased significantly in recent years. This year, assemblies were held in more than 800 settlements. Such assemblies mainly discuss issues of introducing and using self-taxation funds.
During the video reception, employees of local government bodies and heads of settlements were given explanations on issues related to the procedure for holding assemblies, introducing and using self-taxation funds, as well as republican co-financing in the event of the introduction of self-taxation.
Summing up the event, Deputy Minister of Justice Mukharryam Ibyatov noted that «the population of municipalities is the most important subject of local self-government. Citizens' meetings are the key to effective management and development of our territories, contributing to the improvement of interaction between citizens and government bodies».
