The Minister of Justice took part in a meeting of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan

Rustem Zagidullin took part in a meeting of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, which was dedicated to the observance of human rights in places of forced detention and temporary stay.

During the meeting, the results of the work of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the current year were discussed. In particular, it was noted that in 2024, the number of people in the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Republic of Tatarstan decreased by more than 2 times.

In addition, under the agreement between the State Legal Bureau of Tatarstan and the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, convicts serving sentences in the republic have the opportunity to regularly receive free legal assistance.

We remind you that the right to free legal assistance is provided to certain categories of citizens, including disabled persons of groups I and II, low-income people, orphans, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of Russia and participants in a special military operation, as well as their families.
