The Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Zagidullin, held a meeting with students of the Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice, dedicated to the Russian Student Day. During the event, he warmly congratulated the students and noted the close cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic and the university, including issues of student employment.
The main topic of discussion was the achievements of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Minister shared statistical data, emphasizing that Tatarstan is one of the leading regions of the country with a population of over 4 million people, according to the latest census data.
Despite the fact that Tatarstan occupies only 0.4% of the total area of Russia, the republic demonstrates leadership in many economic indicators, such as industrial production, construction and agriculture. «Every third tire for a truck and every third truck is produced in our republic. We also assemble airplanes, helicopters and ships - both civilian and military», - he noted.
The meeting also raised current political issues. In the context of the special military operation, the Minister drew attention to attempts to destabilize the situation. Of particular concern are active users of social networks, who may become the object of manipulation. The Minister recommended that young people be vigilant and observe «digital hygiene».
In addition, Rustem Zagidullin spoke with students about the upcoming elections of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and the elections of deputies of representative bodies of local government. There are a lot of such deputies - more than 7,600. The students, being first-year and second-year students, will vote for the first time in September. The Minister explained to the students the basic rules of the electoral process. He noted the importance of participating in the elections, especially for future lawyers, who will play an important role in the development of the rule of law.
Concluding the meeting, the Minister answered questions from students and spoke about the opportunities for internships in the Ministry of Justice and the offices of justices of the peace.
