Large families in Tatarstan will receive the right to free legal aid

The President of the Russian Federation has signed a federal law that expands the list of categories of citizens entitled to legal assistance within the framework of the state system of free legal aid.

From April 1 of this year the State Legal Bureau of the Republic of Tatarstan, lawyers and other participants of the state system will start providing free legal services to parents with many children.

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Zagidullin noted that the Ministry of Justice is currently working on the relevant changes in the republican legislation on free legal aid. The law provides that the right to receive such assistance will be available to parents with three or more children until the eldest child reaches the age of 18 or 23, if he or she is a full-time student in an educational organization.

According to the latest official data, about 57,9 thousand large families are registered in Tatarstan in 2025.
