A series of celebratory events dedicated to the International Day of older persons are taking place in the republic from october 1st to 10th. Tatarstan Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin made an official visit to the Yelabuga district, where he addressed senior citizens.
During his address, the minister emphasized that supporting senior citizens is a priority area of the republic's social policy. «In Tatarstan, the provision of services to senior citizens is systematized within the framework of the «Active ageing» program in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2025–2030. The program includes a range of activities for senior citizens aimed at maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle, self-fulfillment, and social inclusion», - noted Rustem Zagidullin.
According to him, funding for support measures for senior citizens is provided by both the federal and republican budgets. «Almost 3 billion rubles have been allocated to support senior citizens over the first eight months of this year. These support measures have reached more than half a million people in the republic», - the minister said.
Concluding his speech, Rustem Ildusovich wished all members of the older generation good health, longevity, prosperity, and the warmth and care of their loved ones.
A festive program featuring the district's creative groups was organized for those attending the event.
