Over 3000 Tatarstan residents have benefited from free legal assistance from the beginning of 2025

From january to september 2025, more than three thousand residents of Tatarstan received qualified free legal assistance. Tatarstan Minister of justice Rustem Zagidullin reported this data during a live broadcast on the Tatarstan Government's social media platform with the support of the Regional management center.

Rustem Zagidullin recalled that the republic operates both a state-run and a non-state system of free legal assistance. Participants in the state system include lawyers, State legal bureau of Tatarstan and the Commissioner of the human rights of the Republic of Tatarstan.

«Based on statistics, over the first nine months of this year, participants in the state system provided free legal assistance to more than 3000 people. For comparison, just under 2000 people received assistance during the same period last year», - the minister noted.

The head of the Ministry of justice emphasized that lawyers and State legal bureau staff provide legal consultations, assist in drafting documents and represent citizens in court. He also clarified the specifics of how these services are provided.

«Everyone who comes for assistance will be helped. But when it comes to lawyers representing interests in court and preparing written requests, they only work with those categories of citizens and only on those categories of issues defined by law», - explained Rustem Zagidullin.

For those unsure about their eligibility for free legal assistance, the minister offered a simple solution: «If citizens have doubts about whether they qualify for assistance or whether their question is appropriate, they can always call the Ministry at 222-60-60, and our staff will help».

During the broadcast, the minister also spoke about digital services available to residents of the republic. A «Legal assistance» section has been launched in the «Resident Card of the Republic of Tatarstan» app, allowing people to directly contact specialists from the State legal bureau and ask questions.

«Experience shows that citizens often seek consultations because they cannot find clear explanations for solving their problems. That's why this year we launched a new dedicated section in the app «Life situations»», - Rustem Zagidullin said.

This section provides step-by-step instructions for resolving specific legal issues in various life situations, such as how to apply for a pension, receive free medications or what to do if wages are not being paid. Particular attention is given to participants in special military operations and their families—a separate section of questions is provided for them, including information on compensation for injuries, loan forgiveness and other important topics.
