A solemn ceremony of awarding the winners and nominees of the republican creative contests of anti-corruption orientation took place in the Representative building of the Kazan Kremlin. The event was attended by schoolchildren, students, social activists and journalists from all over the republic.
A large scale project aimed at developing legal literacy and an anti-corruption worldview among the younger generation attracted a record number of participants this year — more than 80 000 young people. 1 272 works were submitted to the republican stage.
The contestants competed in four main categories: «Conscience is a friend, corruption is an enemy», «Know and do not allow!», «Building a future without corruption» and «Say «No!» to corruption! in their native language». Creative works were presented in various formats: posters, videos, essays and applications.
According to the organizers, the number of participants has increased significantly compared to previous years. At the school and municipal stages, the jury reviewed 84 000 works, which is four times more than two years ago.
Ilya Gomzik, first deputy minister of justice of Tatarstan, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He wished all the winners and participants of the contests new victories and success in such a socially important area as corruption prevention.
«Attracting the younger generation to participate in the implementation of anticorruption policy is one of the fundamental tasks of the state», — Ilya Gomzik emphasized in his speech.
