The Republic of Tatarstan continues to successfully implement a federal project to provide free legal assistance to the public. Since 2021, the region has been designated as a pilot site by the Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation for the implementation of the Unified state portal for legal education and free legal assistance (VPRAVE.RF).

According to the Ministry of justice of the Republic of Tatarstan, since the portal's launch, information on 6 113 citizen requests has been entered in the republic. Statistics demonstrate consistent public interest in this service: 2 189 requests were processed in 2024, and 2 139 requests in the first 9 months of 2025.

A significant milestone in the project's development was the order of the Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation, according to which the federal state information system «Legal assistance» has been transferred from test mode to full operation. The Ministry of justice of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State legal bureau have already been connected to the system in accordance with established procedures.

The VPRAVE.RF portal provides citizens with the opportunity to receive qualified legal assistance online, access legal documents, and access current legal news. Registered users can seek free legal assistance and schedule appointments with participants in the state and non-state free legal aid systems.

«For example, you can find out how to apply for a pension, receive free medications, or what to do if your wages are not being paid. All steps are described in step-by-step instructions. You can also schedule an appointment with the State legal bureau of the Republic of Tatarstan through the portal», - says Yaroslav Shvets, head of the free legal assistance and planning department.

The implementation of this project helps improve the accessibility of legal support for residents of the republic, ensuring prompt, transparent and convenient access to legal advice.
