25 December 2025, Thursday

On the eve of the New Year holidays, the Ministry of justice of the Republic of Tatarstan reminds that persons holding state and municipal positions, as well as state and municipal employees, employees of individual organizations are prohibited from receiving and giving gifts in connection with the performance of their official duties.

Victoria Leonidova, the person responsible for the prevention of corruption and other offenses at the Ministry of justice, explains that receiving gifts by civil servants is a violation of the prohibition established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, and creates conditions for a conflict of interest, calling into question the objectivity of their decisions.

«If an official violates the prohibition on receiving gifts, he faces punishment in the form of dismissal due to loss of trust, and if the gift is regarded as a bribe, criminal liability», - notes Victoria Igorevna.

The exceptions are gifts that must be given, which are received in connection with protocol events, business trips and other official events.
