Tatarstan has adopted 3054 municipal acts in support of SMO participants
A significant expansion of the availability of legal services and the introduction of digital solutions was discussed at a joint meeting of the Department of the Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation of Tatarstan and the board of the Republican Ministry of justice.
Summing up the development of the free legal assistance system over the past year, Rustem Zagidullin, Minister of justice of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that there is a steady positive trend in the field of legal support for the population.
«Every year, the mechanisms of legal support for citizens are becoming more accessible. By the end of 2025, there has been a 46 percent increase in the number of citizens who have applied for free legal assistance», - the head of the Ministry stressed.
In 2025, additional categories of citizens received the right to receive such services: parents with many children and persons who lost both or a single parent during their studies.
According to Rustem Zagidullin, legal support for the participants of the special military operation remains one of the priority areas of work. In 2025, legal assistance was provided to 2 605 citizens of this category.
It is worth noting that the Ministry also acts as an active assistant to local governments in the development and adoption of regulatory legal acts to provide support measures. At the beginning of 2026, Tatarstan adopted 3 054 municipal acts aimed at supporting SMO participants. As Rustem Ildusovich noted, the tasks of providing free legal assistance to the participants of the SMO remain relevant for 2026.
