19 February 2026, Thursday

The opening of the exhibition «... and my axe!» took place at the museum and educational center «History of justice», a branch of the National museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. This exhibition, dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, introduces visitors to a collection of chopping and striking weapons dating back to the V millennium before our era.

The opening ceremony was attended by deputy minister Muharryam Ibyatov, who emphasized the symbolism of holding such an exhibition in the Year of military and labor valor in the republic, announced by the Rais of Tatarstan.

«Those who do not remember history have no future, —  said Muharryam Ibyatov. — This weapon symbolizes the military might, valor, labor and feat of our ancestors».

The exhibition presents a rich collection of historical weapons, ranging from artifacts of the third millennium before our era to samples from the Second world war. The exhibition is divided into several thematic blocks, demonstrating the evolution of production, use and design of weapons.

In his speech, the deputy minister also noted the successful choice of the site for the exposition. «The place was chosen symbolically, because both justice and weapons in the history of the state are aimed at protecting law and order», - the deputy minister stressed.

According to Muharryam Ibyatov, holding such events is of particular importance for patriotic education: «Knowledge of the history of one's people and their military prowess is inextricably linked with patriotism. Love for the Motherland, family and each other are the values that make us stronger».

The organizers of the exhibition invite everyone to visit the exposition, which will be open from february 19 to the end of may 2026 (H. Taktasha st., 124). Admission is by ticket to the museum or by using the Pushkin map.
