The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations remind residents living in potential flood zones of the precautions they should take during the flood season.
«Citizen preparedness for potential emergencies is a key factor in minimizing risks. It is important for people to know the steps to take in case of unforeseen circumstances», - the experts note.
For example, if you live in a potential flood zone, prepare for evacuation in advance. Gather valuables and documents in one place. Pack warm, waterproof clothing and footwear.
Don't forget your medications, a flashlight, extra batteries and candles. Also, keep a vehicle ready. If you have a boat, prepare it in advance along with the necessary rescue equipment: life jackets, a life preserver, a long rope.
