28 April 2026, Tuesday

For the fourth year in a row, «Kaspersky Lab» is participating in the nationwide educational project «Digital Likbez», which is being implemented as part of the national project «Data Economy» and the national goal «Technological Leadership». This season, the company, together with the ANO «Digital Economy», with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Digital Development, have prepared two new educational videos on current cyberthreats. The first video explains how to secure a smart home and protect pets using digital technologies, while the second teaches how to distinguish «harmful advice» on digital behavior from effective cybersecurity rules. The educational videos and accompanying materials are available on the website digital-likbez.datalesson.ru.

The story takes place in the fictional city of Ocean City, where one of its inhabitants is an aspiring journalist named Lina, a fish who writes a column on digital threats for the IT company «Karasevsky». In the first video, Lelik, an octopus gamer whose smart home devices had been hacked, asked her for help. The devices began acting strangely, and his pet snail, Bubbles, became frightened and ran away. Luckily, she had a special tag for finding lost pets, which helped her find him. After this, Lelik decided to learn how to secure his smart home.

The second video is presented in the format of «bad advice» on digital security. In the story, a schoolboy, Pasha, a sea turtle, read a bunch of bad advice on one channel. For example, the author claimed that updating software is unnecessary because it only slows down the device and eats up data. As a result, Pasha ran into problems and contacted the editors, whereupon Lina, a fish, released an exposé of the bad advice.

The educational videos are intended for children ages 6 and up and are recommended to be watched with parents and teachers. In addition, there are teaching materials for teachers, which help them integrate them more effectively into the educational process, use them in lessons and extracurricular activities, and at parent-teacher conferences.

«As part of the «Digital Likbez» project, we strive to educate schoolchildren about the cyber risks they face in everyday life. For example, many homes have smart speakers, TVs, cameras, and other gadgets. From the educational video, young users learn how to use them safely to avoid becoming victims of cybercriminals. Pet protection is an equally pressing topic. According to our survey, one in three pet owners fears their pet will get lost, for example, while on a walk or while out walking. Specialized solutions for finding lost pets, such as Kaspersky PetKa, help reduce these risks, and in the video, we explain how they work. And, of course, schoolchildren need to be reminded of the basic rules of cybersecurity and taught to carefully select information sources», - comments Andrey Sidenko, Head of Children's Online Safety at «Kaspersky Lab».

«We see that cybersecurity issues are becoming increasingly relevant in everyday life. The new season of «Digital Likbez», implemented with the participation of «Kaspersky Lab», is aimed at providing practical assistance to users: through educational videos, they can learn how to protect smart devices, secure their digital environment at home, and learn to distinguish false advice from truly effective security measures. This knowledge and skills are especially important in the context of the rapid development of digital technologies», - comments Yulia Goryachkina, Director of the «Human Resources for the Digital Economy» department at the ANO «Digital Economy».

«Digital Likbez» is a nationwide educational project in the field of digital literacy, organized by the ANO «Digital Economy», the Ministry of Digital Development, and the Ministry of Education of Russia. The project includes a series of educational animated videos and teaching materials for teachers that use clear examples to teach children and adults the basics of digital literacy and cybersecurity. The videos are from leading digital companies including VK, «Contribution to the Future» Charitable Foundation, SKB Kontur, «Kaspersky Lab», Avito, Yandex, PJSC «Rostelecom».
