Meeting on the eve of International day of human rights

On 9Th of December 2017 in the Small hall of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan F.H.Mukhametshin met with public assistants of the Ombudsman for human rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of public human rights organizations, scientists and experts, and human freedoms.

Opening the meeting, Farid Mukhametshin noted that the protection of human rights at all times is a priority of all the fundamental documents. In the republic, the activity of a whole institute of commissioners for the protection of human rights, children, entrepreneurs is aimed at ensuring human rights activities. Despite the available reserves and shortcomings, due to the activity of the public and institutions of power, Tatarstan takes a leading position on the protection of human rights and citizens at the federal level.

During the meeting, the minister of justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Zagidullin delivered a report "On the implementation of the Human Rights Strategy in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014 - 2018". This strategic document was developed for the first time in the Russian Federation, drawing on the best practices of a number of European countries.

In his speech, Rustem Zagidullin outlined the main goals and objectives of implementing the human rights strategy in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2014-2018. The Minister noted that the strategy not only guarantees rights and freedoms, but also provides great opportunities for state authorities to create conditions for citizens to exercise their constitutional rights, is a document aimed at maintaining stability in the republic. The development of our society, the stability of the republic and the state as a whole directly depends on the state, the level of security and guarantees in the field of human rights and freedoms and the attitude to this task of each subject of public relations
