10 September 2024, Tuesday

On the sidelines of the Kazan Digital Week — 2024 International Forum, which is currently taking place in Kazan, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation) signed an agreement on cooperation and interaction in the field of implementation of information technologies in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Zagidullin and the Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsvetkov.

The Republic of Tatarstan has become a pilot region for testing the use of a web conference system during court hearings in a number of justices of the peace courts. This will enable parties to the proceedings to remotely participate in court hearings, having previously identified themselves using a single biometric system. Following the results of the trial operation, the practice will be broadcast throughout the country.

«This system will allow the parties to use personal communication devices, such as smartphones or tablets, to connect. To participate, they must submit a corresponding petition», - explained the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Zagidullin.

Remote participation in court hearings will increase accessibility of justice for citizens, save time and money for participants in the process, and optimize the work of the courts. The implementation and development of new digital solutions in the public administration system is one of the goals of the national project «Digital Economy».
