The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan reminds how to prevent forest fires

19 September 2024, Thursday

The forest is a source of life, a priceless storehouse of nature. It gives us oxygen, cleans the air and is home to many animals and plants. Its beauty and diversity inspire artists, poets and all who appreciate the greatness of nature. But the forest has an insidious enemy from which it is defenseless - fire.

Every year we witness devastating forest fires that destroy tens of thousands of hectares of forest, harm the ecosystem and the lives of forest inhabitants.

By preserving forests, we preserve the world around us. Each of us can contribute to the protection of this unique habitat and prevent its destruction.

WHAT NOT TO DO:

  • Throw burning matches, cigarette butts, smoldering rags in the forest.

  • Make a fire in dense thickets and young coniferous trees, under low-hanging tree crowns, next to timber or peat warehouses, in the immediate vicinity of ripe agricultural crops.

  • Leave spontaneously flammable material in the forest: rags, rags soaked in oil or gasoline; glass containers, which in sunny weather can focus the sun's rays and ignite dry vegetation.

  • Burn dry grass in forest clearings, in gardens, in fields, under trees.

  • Set fire to reeds.

  • Make a fire with flammable liquids or in windy weather.

  • Leave a fire unattended or unextinguished after leaving the campsite.

  • If a special fire-prevention regime has been introduced in a particular area, it is strictly forbidden to visit forests until it is lifted.

In case of fire, call emergency numbers:

from any phone - 112

from a mobile phone - 101
