Ilya Gomzik: For the effective development of the republic and the country as a whole, the sphere of combating corruption requires constant improvement

15 November 2024, Friday

The share of citizens who refused to enter into corrupt transactions when they found themselves in such a situation has increased significantly: if in 2015 this figure was 38%, now it has reached 60%. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilya Gomzik at the XIV All-Russian scientific and practical conference «Dialectics of Combating Corruption».

The conference is held annually and is a scientific, practice-oriented, methodological and educational forum that brings together leading scientists in the field of combating corruption, representatives of civil society institutions, government bodies and local governments of the Russian Federation and foreign countries. Over the entire period of the conference, more than 4,000 people from 15 countries have taken part.

In his welcoming speech, Ilya Aleksandrovich noted that corruption creates serious obstacles to the development of the state, undermines the authority of public authorities, and also damages the stability of society. «For example, in the first half of 2024, law enforcement agencies in the Republic of Tatarstan identified 695 corruption-related crimes», - he said.

One of the main documents aimed at preventing corruption in various areas in the republic is the state program «Implementation of the Anti-Corruption Policy of the Republic of Tatarstan», the implementation of which is monitored by the Ministry of Justice of Tatarstan.

In his speech, Ilya Aleksandrovich emphasized that for the effective development of the republic and the country as a whole, the anti-corruption sphere requires constant improvement. «I believe that the main goal of holding this conference is, first of all, the exchange of experience and knowledge, which will undoubtedly contribute to the evolution of anti-corruption activities», - the First Deputy Minister expressed confidence.
