The Tatarstan Ministry of Justice Team: «We have doubled our results and are reaching a new level»
Badminton competitions were held in Kazan as part of the annual Spartakiad of civil servants of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event was organized as part of the federal project «Sport is the norm of life» of the national project «Demography», and brought together several dozen athletes.
The competitions were held in two stages: group and playoff series games. The games between teams were held in three meetings: doubles (mixed), women's and men's singles. The team of the Ministry of Justice of Tatarstan was represented by Ilfat Mingalimov, Valeria Zaripova, Raliya Garifullina and Ilyas Khusnutdinov.
«We took sixth place out of 17 teams, - said Ilfat Mingalimov, head of the department of the Ministry. - We improved our results twofold compared to the previous year, when we took 15th place. Before the competition, we set the goal of getting into the top eight. And we succeeded. Our opponents were more experienced athletes, who were not participating in badminton competitions for the first time. Sixth place is a very good and worthy result for our young team».
The final volleyball competitions are ahead, as a result of which the points will be finally distributed and the winners and prize-winners of the 2024 Spartakiad will be determined.
