On December 12, 2024, amendments to the laws of the Republic of Tatarstan on local self-government in the Republic of Tatarstan and on the interaction of state authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan with the Association «Council of municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan» come into force.

The corresponding Law № 90-ZRT was adopted on November 28, 2024.

The amendments clarify the procedure for implementing inter-municipal cooperation, the organization and activities of the Association «Council of municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan», and also introduce provisions on the preparation by the Council of municipalities of an annual report on the state and development of local self-government in the Republic of Tatarstan.
