New legislation
In March 2025, amendments to the republican law on local self-government came into force. The corresponding Law of the Republic of Tatarstan № 1-LRT was signed on February 28, 2025. The introduced amendments supplement the issues of local significance of a municipal district and urban district with the organization of provision of additional education of adults under additional educational programs of sports training in municipal educational organizations.
Previously, the above amendments in accordance with Federal Law № 471-FL «On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation» dated December 13, 2024 were also introduced to Federal Law № 131-FL «On General Principles of Organization of Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation» dated October 6, 2003.
The above amendments require amendments to the charters of municipal entities.
