Minister of Justice of Tatarstan Rustem Zagidullin congratulated residents of Yelabuga on Sabantuy Day
On the eve of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Zagidullin among the guests of honor visited Sabantui in Yelabuga district.
Noting the significance of the main national holiday, the Minister addressed the audience with congratulations and read out a greeting on behalf of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
The address emphasized the special significance of the holiday for the preservation of national traditions: «For centuries, the bright, hospitable Maidan has been gathering representatives of different ages, nationalities and religions. The holiday clearly reflects the example of peaceful living and cultural mutual enrichment of the inhabitants of multinational Tatarstan».
The address also noted that Sabantui is a place of long-awaited meeting of relatives, fellow villagers and friends. «Its atmosphere disposes to pleasant communication in the native language, direct immersion in age-old traditions and customs. It attracts the unique spirit of sports wrestling and folk games, the skill of talents. It is here that the strength, agility and wit of dzhigits - future defenders of their families and Fatherland - are demonstrated», - the message said.
A rich program with traditional competitions, concerts of Tatar pop stars was prepared for participants and guests. A special moment of the holiday was the ceremony of awarding the best workers of the district, which was attended by the minister.
