This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Justices of the Peace in the Republic of Tatarstan. Tatarstan Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin shared that during this period, digital services have significantly simplified the lives of Tatarstan residents and accelerated the processes of judicial proceedings.

According to the minister, Tatarstan traditionally occupies a leading position in digitalization among the subjects of Russia. Rais of the Republic Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov pays special attention to this area. The Ministry of Justice, in turn, is continuously working to implement digital solutions aimed at simplifying the interaction of residents of the republic with justices of the peace.

«The electronic justice system operates at all judicial districts of justices of the peace. This service allows citizens and legal entities to apply to judicial districts electronically», - the minister noted. He emphasized the growing popularity of the service: «If in 2023, the first full year of operation, 91 thousand documents were submitted electronically, then in 2024 - already more than 140 thousand».

As reported by Rustem Ildusovich, 96 thousand SMS messages were sent in 2024 by the offices of justices of the peace to residents of the republic. «When applying to the court, a citizen can write an application to receive notifications via messages instead of a traditional postal summons. This is convenient - there is no need to go to the post office, and all the necessary information comes directly to your mobile phone», - he explained.

«Electronic Queue» is another service that simplifies the process of applying to the court for residents of Tatarstan. Now you can make an appointment online through the Portal of State Services of the Republic of Tatarstan, which significantly reduces the waiting time at court stations.

Speaking about the dynamics of cases considered by courts of general jurisdiction, the minister noted a significant increase in the workload of justices of the peace. If in 2005-2008, justices of the peace considered an average of 310 thousand cases (about 1800 cases per judge per year), then in 2024 the number of cases considered reached 872 thousand, and the average workload was 4590 cases per judge.

Rustem Zagidullin emphasized that one of the main tasks of the Ministry is to create comfortable conditions for both justices of the peace and employees of their offices, as well as for citizens seeking protection of their rights from justices of the peace.

«Through to the decision of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich, since 2014 the program «Development of Justice in the Republic of Tatarstan» has been implemented in the republic. The program allows for a systematic solution to key problems of ensuring the activities of justices of the peace».

Over the past 10 years, major repairs have been carried out in 24 buildings, which house 85 court districts.

«We are trying to organize appropriate conditions for citizens visiting courts, and we are paying special attention to creating an accessible environment for people with limited mobility», - the minister said.
