Most divorce proceedings go through the judicial system, and federal legislation provides a whole set of norms aimed at minimizing ill-considered and hasty decisions. This was reported by the Minister of Justice of Tatarstan, Rustem Zagidullin, during a press conference.

Answering a journalist's question regarding the divorce procedure, the minister emphasized that when a married couple applies to court for a divorce, they are always given time for consideration - from one to three months.

«If 20 years ago one could encounter a case where a person filed documents with the court and got divorced in a very short period of time, now the legislation is structured in such a way as to still give married couples an opportunity to reconcile», -  Rustem Zagidullin compared the situation.

The minister also drew attention to mediation assistance, where psychologists work with married couples. According to the Head of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan, this is systematic work that, collectively, serves as one of the tools for preserving the family.
