Rustem Zagidullin: In multiethnic Tatarstan, conscious participation in elections holds special significance
Today, our country marks the Day of Languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation for the first time. This new commemorative date highlights the richness of Russia’s cultural and linguistic diversity.
Minister of Justice Rustem Zagidullin emphasized that preserving this diversity must have a legislative foundation established by representative authorities. Historically, Tatarstan has developed as a territory of interethnic harmony, where representatives of 175 nationalities maintain their culture and language. He noted that under such conditions, the voice of every population group must be heard through legitimate democratic institutions when state decisions are made.
The minister reminded citizens of the upcoming elections in September 2026, which constitute the main political event of the current year. «It is important not to remain passive, but to come to the polls, recognize one’s responsibility, and feel a sense of involvement in the decisions being made at both the national and republican levels».
