Studying the experience of St. Petersburg on the application of information technologies in the field of provision free legal assistance

On 22nd of June, 2016 the ministry of justice of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Advocatory chamber of the Republic of Tatarstan implemented a joint exit to St. Petersburg in order to study the experience in using automated system "Electronic social register of the population of St. Petersburg" (next - AIS ESRP) within the framework of the implementation of law on free legal aid.

Colleagues from the Committee for social policy of St. Petersburg, which is the authorized executive body of state power of St. Petersburg in the field of providing to citizens' free legal assistance in St. Petersburg (next - the Committee), presented the work of subsystem "Legal aid" in the St. Petersburg’s state public institutions "Public information and billing center" (institutions subordinated to the Committee).

The subsystem "Legal assistance" is implemented on the basis of AIS ESRP and aims at simplifying the procedure for obtaining the citizens of free legal aid from lawyers who are members of the state system, and also on simplifying the procedure of remuneration of lawyers in this activity and control over the targeted use of budgetary funds.

Republic specialists have gained valuable experience on the specifics of the implementation and operation of the subsystem to be used in the elaboration of the question of implementation of the subsystem "Free legal assistance" in the framework of state information system "Social register of the population of Republic of Tatarstan."
