Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin took part in the forty-first meeting of the sixth convocation of the State Council.
During the meeting, the Minister presented to the parliamentarians the draft law "On Amendments to Articles 6 and 12 of the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan "On ensuring conditions for the Exercise of citizens' Rights to Hold Meetings, Rallies, Demonstrations, Marches and Picketing in the Republic of Tatarstan", developed in connection with changes in federal legislation.
The Federal Law defines the places where it is prohibited to hold public events. Such places include:
1) buildings and territories of river, sea, railway and automobile stations and stations, airports, sea, river ports, marinas;
2) buildings and territories of educational organizations, medical organizations, social protection organizations, playgrounds and sports grounds;
3) buildings of public authorities, as well as territories directly adjacent to such buildings, life support facilities, including those ensuring the functioning of electric, thermal, water supply networks, water supply and (or) drainage networks, gas supply networks;
4) places of worship, buildings and structures, as well as land plots on which such buildings and structures are located, places of pilgrimage.
By federal law, the regions are entitled to adopt laws defining additional places where meetings, rallies, processions and demonstrations are prohibited. In Tatarstan, it was decided not to determine additional places.
