The Ministry of Justice of Tatarstan discussed new measures of social support for large families

20 May 2025, Tuesday

At the meeting of the Expert Council of the Interdepartmental Coordination Committee on Legal Issues at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan, the members of the Council considered and approved the draft law concerning amendments to the Republican Law on Targeted Social Support of the Population. The meeting was chaired by First Deputy Minister Ilya Gomzik.

The Decree of the President of Russia from 23 January 2024 № 63 «On measures of social support for large families» recommended to the subjects to establish free provision of medicines for children under 6 years of age from large families.

At present, the national legislation on targeted social support in Tatarstan stipulates that all children in the first three years of life are provided with medicines free of charge and that children from large families up to the age of 6 receive a subsidy for the purchase of medicines.

In order to implement the above-mentioned Presidential Decree, the draft law proposes to replace subsidies for the free provision of medicines to children aged three to six in large families.

Those who received a subsidy for medicines for a child under six years of age before the proposed changes came into force will be given the right to choose whether to continue receiving the subsidy until the end of its term or to switch to free medicines.

The bill is being prepared for submission to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic for further submission to the State Council of Tatarstan for consideration
