Tatarstan delegation took part in large-scale Sabantuy on the banks of the Yenisei
The Tatar national holiday Sabantuy was held on a grand scale on Tatyshev Island within the city limits of Krasnoyarsk. Today, Krasnoyarsk Krai is the leader in the Siberian Federal District in terms of the number of Sabantuy holidays held annually.
A delegation from Tatarstan headed by Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic Mukharryam Ibyatov took part in the celebration. The delegation included: People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Ferdinand Fathi, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Gulshat Imamiyeva and laureate of international competitions Ilnur Yannikeyev.
Congratulating the participants and guests of Sabantuy, Deputy Minister of Justice Mukharryam Ibyatov read out a greeting on behalf of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: «Sabantuy reflects the diversity, richness and peculiarities of the Tatar culture, unites our compatriots living on different continents of the world. At mass celebrations, we care about the continuity of ancient customs and traditions inherited from our ancestors, we respect them and cultivate love for them in the younger generation», - the message noted.
The celebration included traditional games and competitions. The focus was on the «Koresh» wrestling the culmination of Sabantuy. This exciting strength competition left no one indifferent. The organizers also prepared humorous games: running with a yoke, running in sacks, running with a spoon and an egg and other fun competitions.
