5 August 2025, Tuesday

In connection with the predicted thunderstorms, the Ministry of Justice of Tatarstan together with the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters remind citizens of the need to observe safety measures in thunderstorm weather.

Experts remind:

  • During a thunderstorm, it is strongly recommended not to engage in such activities as running, cycling, scootering or rollerblading, as this increases the risk of lightning strikes, especially in open spaces and high places.
  • It is necessary to avoid approaching power lines and tall trees
  • At the first signs of a thunderstorm, you should go into any building
  • If there is no shelter nearby, it is recommended to go down from a high place and sit down

«A thunderstorm is not just a natural phenomenon, but a potentially dangerous situation that requires every citizen to take a responsible attitude to their own safety. Following simple rules can save lives», - the departments note.
