Training workshop on the implementation of legislation in the field of prevention of the extremism and terrorism

Pursuant to paragraph 19 of the Action Plan for the month of “No extremism!”, The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan organized a training seminar for legal servants, as well as to the secretaries of antiterrorist commissions Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan on the implementation of legislation in the field of prevention extremism and terrorism. The seminar took place on September 19, 2014.

Workshop was held in the regime of videoconference, it was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan M.M.Ibyatov. He made a report about the legislation in the sphere of struggling with extremism and terrorism.

Head of the department of church-state relations of the Office for Cooperation with Religious Organizations Department of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on domestic policy I.S.Galiev in his report revealed the issues of prevention of extremism and terrorism, which have been repeatedly discussed by the Security Council of the Republic of Tatarstan in this year.

I.K.Ismagilov, Head of Department for Supervision over the implementation of laws concerning the federal security, international relations, struggling with extremism and terrorism of Prosecutor Office of the Republic of Tatarstan, counselor of Justice, presented a report on the implementation of the legislation on inter-ethnical relations. Criticisms of particular municipalities, where the requirements of federal law are not fully complied, sounded in his speech.
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Head of the Executive Committee, Head of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Tatarstan N.M.Vladimirov made a report about the interaction of NGO’s with government and law enforcement agencies in the municipalities of the Tatarstan.

Acting Head of the Department of the Center for Combating Extremism of Interior in Republic Tatarstan, police captain S.S.Simonov spoke about youth extremism and legal foundation of struggling with the extremism.

The Deputy Principal of the national and cultural associations, cultural and exhibition activities of “House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan” N.V.Myasnikova reported about the activities of the House of Friendship of Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan on the harmonization of interethnic relations and prevention of domestic extremism.

At the end of the two-hour seminar M.M.Ibyatov, summing up, noted the relevance of the discussed questions and invited local authorities to work actively in the field of implementation of the above legislation.
