Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin took part in the meeting of the State Council of the sixth convocation.
During the meeting, the Minister presented to the parliamentarians the draft law "On amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan "On providing free legal assistance to citizens in the Republic of Tatarstan".
According to the republican Law "On the provision of free legal assistance to citizens in the Republic of Tatarstan", lawyers, executive authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan and their subordinate institutions, management bodies of state extra-budgetary funds, as well as legal clinics and non-governmental centers of free legal assistance provide free legal assistance on the territory of the republic (the list of participants providing free legal assistance can be found at the link https://minjust.tatarstan.ru/besplatnaya-yuridicheskaya-pomoshch.htm ).
At the same time, the Federal Law "On Free Legal Aid in the Russian Federation" granted the regions the right to create a state legal bureau to provide free legal aid. Today, such bureaus have been established in 28 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The submitted draft law provides for the possibility of establishing a State legal bureau in the Republic. The relevant powers are assigned to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Following the meeting, the bill was approved by deputies.
