Meeting of the Council for the Implementation of Legislation on Languages of the Republic of Tatarstan
Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin took part in a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of legislation on Languages of the Republic of Tatarstan under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, which was held at the Government House of the Republic under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin.
The Minister of Justice made a report on the implementation of legislation in 2021. Monitoring of legislation on state languages is carried out on the basis of information provided by the heads of executive bodies and local self-government bodies.
The year 2021 was marked by the Year of Native Languages, and according to its results, the planned values for nine indicators were achieved, by local governments – for five.
"The issue of compliance with the rules of spelling and punctuation, the identity of the texts of signage in Tatar and Russian languages remains acute. There are cases of the use and establishment of erroneous versions of texts," Rustem Zagidullin noted.
The meeting was also attended by Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Vasil Shaikhraziev, representatives of republican ministries and departments, as well as heads of municipalities.
