Speech by the Minister of Justice R.I.Zagidullin at the meeting of the Coordinating Council under the Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on RT

Today, Justice Minister Rustem Zagidullin took part in a meeting of the Coordinating Council, which was attended by members of the Council and invited persons.

The topic of the Coordination Council was a meeting on "Topical issues of providing free legal aid in the Republic of Tatarstan", on which the Minister made a report.

During his speech on this topic, he reported on the main projects that are being implemented by the Ministry of Justice in the field of providing free legal assistance to residents of the republic.

For example, the Minister said that in order to provide legal assistance to persons who were forced to leave the territories of Ukraine, the DPR and the LPR, an interdepartmental advisory group was formed on March 4, 2022.

"Initially, receptions of citizens who arrived in the republic and are in temporary accommodation were held daily, today they are carried out weekly."

Rustem Zagidullin also noted that in February 2022, amendments were made to the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan on Free Legal Aid, providing for the possibility of creating a state legal bureau.

"It is proposed to create a bureau in Kazan with a subdivision in the village. Rich Subs of the Sabinsky district. The implementation of this project is planned this year with the involvement of the Bureaus of state authorities, legal clinics, lawyers, notaries and others"

In addition, in November 2021, a special car based on Gazelle NEXT was handed over to the republic, which greatly simplifies the organization of exit points for providing free legal assistance. The machines will also be used in providing legal assistance in remote settlements of the republic.

Concluding his speech, Rustem Ildusovich expressed confidence that the indicated transformations will give a new impetus to the development of the institute of free legal aid in the republic.
